Progress report of the court in Northern Bulgaria

The project "Justice reach to people" is implemented by the National Network for court watch. It is funded by the America for Bulgaria Foundation. Its purpose was to explore, analyze and track the progress of the court in its work on the transparency of judicial system. Exploration was conducted during the period from February 2010 to April 2011. The monitoring involved 20 courts in 16 judicial districts of North Bulgaria. The monitoring team includes 40 civilian observers, 20 analytical groups and 44 experts. We observed 616 lawsuits including 326 civil and 290 penalty cases. The general subject of the exploration was elements of judicial process which directly influence the opportunity for people to benefit from justice.
